James joined Wilton Golf Club in 1991 and was a member until he became assistant professional at the club in 2005. He became a fully qualified PGA professional in 2008. James became the professional at Wilton in 2013.

The Pro Shop is well stocked with brands including TaylorMade, Titleist, Ping, Glenmuir, Under Armour, Footjoy and other major brands. James is a member of the Foremost Buying Group, which means he can get equipment from any brand, all at competitive prices.

James offers a golf repair service which includes re-gripping, re-shafting, club extensions, loft and lie and custom fitting.

Gift vouchers are also available for use in the Pro Shop and Golf Lessons.

Lessons, lasting 40 minutes, are available at the following prices-

* Individual lessons: £17.50 each or three lessons for £45.
* Junior lessons: £12 each or three lessons for £30.

On course lessons are also available and prices are available upon request.

Message from Alfie Baldwin, 17 years old and your Junior Captain in 2022.

I have had the honour of being Junior captain for three years now and have enjoyed watching those new to the game grow a passion for it, just like I did when I began playing. I have been playing Golf for eight years and have been a member of Wilton for seven. Throughout the years and with the help of James Kraus (Professional) I have lowered my handicap and currently play off scratch, whilst also playing for both Yorkshire and Teesside U18 teams.

Here at Wilton Golf Club, we have a small but growing Junior section with a number of competitions throughout the year, handicapped and non-handicapped. We always welcome new junior members.

My role as Junior Captain is to help and give advice to any Junior member if required. I’m also happy to take time out to get to know all of the Junior members and I will play rounds with anyone and everyone, no matter how good or new to the game they are.

Our Professional James Kraus is a fantastic coach who keeps things simple with the Junior lessons and, just as mine did, I’m sure your handicap will soon come down with his coaching!! In 5 years my handicap has reduced from 34 to scratch (+0.3), showing the support, advice and coaching I have had from James.
