Welcome to the home of Wilton Golf Club

 

Wilton Golf Club is rapidly developing a reputation for the best golfing day out in the area. The 18 hole golf course is set in parkland with an abundance of trees and shrubs which also makes for a pleasant walk.

We have spaces available for new members in all categories. There is no joining fee and our rates are competitive.  Go to our membership page for more details and an application form.

GOLF COURSE RE-OPENING! The golf course will be re-opening to members on Wednesday 2nd December. As it was before the lockdown you must book a tee off time. You can only book your time for Wednesday by telephoning 01642452730, the phone will be manned from 9.00 til 12.00 on Tuesday. Do not come up to the club on Tuesday as everything will still be closed.

 

PLEASE NOTE!!! When the golf course re-opens on Wednesday(2nd Dec) due to being in tier 3 restrictions the locker rooms will be closed (the toilet facilities will still be open) any member who needs to retrieve their equipment can liaise with the pro shop and they will enable them to retrieve their equipment. Once you have collected your equipment it must be taken away until further notice. We will be operating a competition on Saturday, in the interest of fairness any member who is not able to play Monday to Friday can put their name (and only their name) down on Wednesday, everyone else must wait until Thursday to put their names down. We will only be allowing members to play the course until Monday 14th December, when this will be reviewed.

WINTER RULES

(effective from 6/10/20)

  • PREFERRED LIES – You may lift, clean and place your ball in any area that is cut to fairway height or less. You must mark your ball and replace it within 6” no nearer the hole.
  • PLUGGED BALL – You are entitled to free relief if your ball is embedded in any area except a hazard. You must drop your ball within 1 club length, no nearer the hole.
  • BUNKERS – We are reverting to placing in the bunkers (including in competitions), you must mark your ball and replace within 6” no nearer the hole.
  • WINTER WHEELS – Winter wheels are now in use, they are not mandatory, so it is up to the individual whether they want to use them.
  • NO PRACTICE ON 10A – 10A is now closed as a chipping area for the duration of the winter. This is to keep it prepared in case we need to use it for general play.
  • WHITE LINE AREAS – Areas of the course (approaching the greens) may be marked off with white lines, you must not take any trollies inside the white line areas.
  • WINTER GREENS – If your ball comes to rest on a winter green (that is not being used that particular day) then you must treat the area as compulsory GUR and take free relief, nearest point, no nearer the hole, drop within 1 club length.
  • BUGGIES – The use of ride on buggies will be reviewed on a day to day basis. Please check the website or phone message for information.

GUIDELINES FOR USING THE CLUBHOUSE FACILITIES

ENTERING AND EXITING THE CLUBHOUSE

  • Both ladies and gents are required to enter the clubhouse via the respective ladies and gents outside locker room doors.
  • It is a requirement that when entering the building you use the facilities to wash your hands.
  • At the top of the stairs in the clubhouse there will be a sanitizer station, please use the bottles and wipes provided to wipe the table and chairs that you wish to sit at. There is hand sanitizer provided to sanitize after wiping down the surfaces.
  • To leave the clubhouse you exit via the patio doors. There will be a station at that door where you are required to leave your empty glasses and bottles in the rack.
  • If you require the use of the toilet facilities you must exit through the patio doors and go in through the outside locker room doors.

THERE IS STRICTLY A ‘ONE-WAY’ SYSTEM IN OPERATION IN THE CLUBHOUSE AND YOU MUST ADHERE TO IT. USE THE ARROWS THAT HAVE BEEN MARKED ON THE FLOOR FOR GUIDENCE

 

ORDERING AND PURCHASING DRINKS

  • The bar will be serving from the far end of the bar near the kitchen. The queuing areas for the bar are clearly marked on the floor and the gaps indicated must be maintained.
  • If you wish to go from your seat to the bar you must follow the ‘one-way’ system which will take you outside and back in through the locker rooms.
  • You must pay using a contactless card and you must only handle your own drinks.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Everyone who enters the clubhouse must log their details, golfers who have played on the day will have this done automatically by virtue of having booked a tee off time. Anybody who has not played golf or who plays after 6.00pm must log their details with the bar. The purpose of this is for track and trace in the event of any cases.
  • We are currently serving food on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Bar opening times – 11.00am til 9.00pm

PLEASE HAVE RESPECT AND PATIENCE FOR THE STAFF AND FELLOW CUSTOMERS. ANYBODY WHO DOES NOT ADHERE TO THE RULES WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE.

WEDNESDAY COMPETITION

During shop hours, cards must be returned to the shop and we will ask you to read out your scores so that they can be entered into the computer on your behalf. Anyone finishing after the shop is closed must put their scorecard into the box in the clubhouse where they will be collected the following day.
